# Can my system report conversions by webhook?

**When do I use the webhook instead of the Server Events API?**

The endpoint POST /v1/webhooks/conversions is meant for systems that fire a webhook of their own rather than letting you program an API call. It always requires a valid signature.

| | Server Events API | Webhook |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Path | /v1/server/events | /v1/webhooks/conversions |
| Signature | optional | required |
| Several events per call | yes | yes |
| Typical trigger | your own backend code | an event in a third-party system |

The rules are the same: the same event schema, the same idempotency through the event ID, the same consent check. A shared identifier is needed here too, so the conversion lands in a journey.
