# How is a journey created?

**How do individual signals become one coherent journey?**

A journey is a chain of measured signals with timestamp, source and identifier, not a reconstruction. Signals are joined when they carry a shared, unambiguous identifier.

1. Delivery: the impression pixel reports that the creative was served.
2. Viewability: the viewability tag reports whether it was actually visible.
3. Click: the click travels through a signed link and is redirected safely.
4. Website: the tag reports session, page views and interactions. A visit becomes one touchpoint; moving between pages inside it does not add another.
5. Conversion: your shop or CRM reports the completion with an order or lead number, from the browser or from the server.
6. Linking: unambiguous identifiers bring the signals together into one journey.

Where a shared identifier is missing, signals stay separate. Metrunio does not close the gap with probabilities; it reports it. A conversion without linked contacts appears as “unattributed”.
