Why do I see no post-view touchpoints?
Post-view needs its own viewable impression signal. Without the viewability tag, or with a mismatched impression ID, no post-view contact is created.
Viewable impressions do not appear in journeys. Why is that?
- 01Check that both the impression pixel and the viewability tag are built into the creative.
- 02Both elements must receive the same impression ID through the ad server macro.
- 03Only viewable impressions (at least 50 per cent of the area for one second) count as a post-view touchpoint.
- 04Check the view window under “Settings” in the “Measurement rules” section; by default it is one day.
- 05Check that marketing consent was in place. Without it no advertising event and no view identifier is created. The pixel needs
c=1, the tagdata-metrunio-consent="granted". - 06Check the post-view coverage under “Channels & attribution”: it says, by channel and browser family, how many of your viewable impressions could be linked to a visit at all. Safari, Firefox and Brave sit at zero there. That is the browser, not your installation.
- 07Check that pixel, tag and embed code name the same measurement address. After setting up your own measurement domain all three must be replaced, otherwise the view identifier never comes back.
Note
Check your plan first: the free “Start” plan does not include post-view attribution and does not measure impressions. The impression pixel and the viewability tag are not accepted there; the diagnosis then shows IMPRESSIONS_NOT_IN_PLAN. Viewable impressions from before, for example from the trial, remain in your data and receive no share. How many there are is shown under “Channels & attribution”.
Note
Closed platforms do not allow independent impression tags everywhere. Where signals are missing, we do not invent touchpoints.

How does a viewable impression without a click get to a purchase in my shop?
Through a cookie on the measurement address: pixel and viewability tag set it with consent, the SDK in your shop returns it, and the link is made on the server. That works in Chrome and Edge, not in Safari, Firefox or Brave. How large the linkable share is for you is shown as post-view coverage in the portal.
- How do I measure a creative’s viewability?
What is the viewability tag and when does an impression count as viewable?
The viewability tag is a separate script in the creative. It reports an impression as viewable once at least 50 per cent of its area has been in view for one second. Metrunio measures viewability from the Pro plan upwards, not on the free Start plan.
- What do the macros in the tracking code mean?
What is [IMPRESSION_ID] and what happens if the macro is not replaced?
Your ad server replaces [IMPRESSION_ID] with the identifier of the individual delivery and [CACHEBUSTER] with a random value. If [IMPRESSION_ID] is left unreplaced, the collector detects it and gives the pixel its own impression ID per delivery. The impression then counts, but the viewability tag reports nothing: without a shared identifier, viewability cannot be matched to a delivery.
- What are the click window and view window?
How long does a touchpoint before the conversion count?
The click window sets how long a click before the conversion still counts (30 days by default); the view window does the same for a viewable impression (one day by default). You set both under “Settings”, together with the default model.
