Journeys e identidades
Why is there no cross-device matching?
Only when a shared, unambiguous identifier exists, for example a pseudonymised customer number after signing in. Probabilistic matching through device characteristics deliberately does not exist.
Can Metrunio tell that someone clicked on mobile and bought on a laptop?
Cross-device attribution is possible exactly where it can be evidenced: if the same person signs in on both devices and you pass the customer number, Metrunio links the visits through the hash derived from it.
Without such an attribute the result is two separate journeys. The alternative would be to compute a probability from IP range, screen size and timing and report it as fact. We do not.
Note
The consequence is visible and intended: a share of conversions stays “unattributed”. That number is in the report and is itself a statement about coverage.

- Which attributes are linked?
How does Metrunio know that two signals belong together?
Only through unambiguous identifiers: session ID, pseudonymous first-party ID, click ID, impression ID, view identifier, pseudonymised customer identifier, and order or lead number. Nothing else.
- Where does measurement end?
What are the limits of Metrunio’s measurement?
Post-view is only measurable where your own tags may be served and the browser returns the view identifier: not every served ad is viewable, and not every viewable one can be linked to the purchase. Without consent, gaps arise deliberately, and a gap stays a gap, not a zero. Attribution describes assignment, not causal advertising effect.
- What does Metrunio deliberately not do?
Which features are missing, and why?
No fingerprinting, no marketing mix modelling, no ad server and no consent management of its own. The scope is deliberately narrow: measure, connect, attribute; whatever else you need is done by a tool built for it. There are no extrapolated figures, and every figure says where it comes from, such as measured or attributed.
