Signing in without your phone or passkey: recovery codes
After your password, choose “Use a recovery code” and enter one of the ten codes you wrote down during setup. Each works exactly once. Without your phone or passkey and without an unused code there is no way back into this account.
How do I sign in when my phone or passkey is not at hand?
- 01Enter your email address and password and choose “Sign in”. If the password is right, the page asks for the second step.
- 02Choose “Use a recovery code”. Depending on the account it is preceded by “Phone not at hand?”, “Passkey not at hand?” or both.
- 03Enter a code from your list that you have not used yet. Upper and lower case, hyphens and spaces do not matter.
- 04After signing in, the settings show how many codes are left.
If the code is rejected
- “This recovery code is not valid” means: used or mistyped. The page deliberately does not say which, as it would otherwise reveal which codes exist. Use the next unused one.
- “The code from the authenticator app is not correct” only concerns the code from the app. There, the right time on your phone and the code currently shown help.
New phone
Sign in with a recovery code and switch off two-step verification in the settings: enter your password, choose “Lost your phone? Switch off with a recovery code” and enter another unused code. Then set it up again on the new phone and you get ten new recovery codes. The old ones stop working.
Lost passkey
Sign in with a recovery code and remove the lost device’s passkey under “Settings” → “Passkeys”. If it is your last second step, confirm the removal with your password and another unused code; the remaining codes then expire. When you add a new passkey afterwards, you get ten new recovery codes.
Caution
Without your phone or passkey and without an unused recovery code there is no way back into this account, not through “Forgot password” either, because the second step stays switched on. There is currently no way through support. Your tenant’s admins can invite you again with a different address. If you are the only admin, invite a second person with that role as a precaution.

How do I protect my account beyond the password?
In the settings you set up a code from an authenticator app or a passkey. After your password, sign-in then asks for the code or the passkey. Ten recovery codes cover the case where you have neither at hand.
- Sign in with a passkey
How do I sign in without a password?
Add a passkey under “Settings” → “Security”. After that you sign in with “Sign in with a passkey” without a password, using your fingerprint, face or your device’s PIN. A passkey also counts as the second step when you sign in with your password.

I cannot get into my account. What now?
Use “Forgot your password?” to reset it yourself; the link arrives by email. Signing in with Google Workspace is also possible, provided it is enabled for your tenant. It comes with Scale and the agency plan.
- Which roles exist and what may they do?
Who is allowed to do what in the portal?
There are three roles inside a tenant (Admin, Analysis and Read only) plus two platform-side roles. Every API route checks the permission server-side; hiding things in the interface is only the display of that.
