What is post-view and what does it tell me?
Post-view means: a viewable ad that was not followed by a click is linked to a later order or lead and taken into account by your model. That gives a number to contacts click measurement cannot see, display in particular; it only works where your own tag runs, both sides have consented and the browser returns the view identifier. Viewable impressions receive a share from the Pro plan, and how much they count is decided by model and view window.
Why should I count viewable impressions without a click?
What post-view can do
Whether display and video advertising came before an order or lead without a click only becomes visible once the viewable impression is measured. Counting clicks alone leaves that part of the budget without a number. Post-view gives it one: as a separately reported figure, not as a quiet upgrade. How the attribution changes when these contacts are included is shown by the model comparison in your own data. It does not show how many additional purchases the advertising caused. That is what an experiment examines.
Where it ends
- Post-view is only measurable where your own impression or viewability tags may be served.
- A served impression is not automatically viewable. Only viewable ones count.
- Closed platforms do not allow independent tags everywhere.
- A viewable impression only reaches the purchase if the browser keeps the view identifier: Chrome and Edge do, Safari, Firefox and Brave do not. How large that share is for you is shown as post-view coverage next to the share.
- Where signals are missing, we do not invent touchpoints.
- Attribution describes assignment, not cause.
Note
The decision point: compare click-only against post-view before you move budget. The difference between the two is the actual statement, not the post-view figure on its own.

- How post-view is measured and where it is not
How does a viewable impression without a click get to a purchase in my shop?
Through a cookie on the measurement address: pixel and viewability tag set it with consent, the SDK in your shop returns it, and the link is made on the server. That works in Chrome and Edge, not in Safari, Firefox or Brave. How large the linkable share is for you is shown as post-view coverage in the portal.
- Why do I see no post-view touchpoints?
Viewable impressions do not appear in journeys. Why is that?
Post-view needs its own viewable impression signal. Without the viewability tag, or with a mismatched impression ID, no post-view contact is created.
- How do I measure a creative’s viewability?
What is the viewability tag and when does an impression count as viewable?
The viewability tag is a separate script in the creative. It reports an impression as viewable once at least 50 per cent of its area has been in view for one second. Metrunio measures viewability from the Pro plan upwards, not on the free Start plan.
- Where does measurement end?
What are the limits of Metrunio’s measurement?
Post-view is only measurable where your own tags may be served and the browser returns the view identifier: not every served ad is viewable, and not every viewable one can be linked to the purchase. Without consent, gaps arise deliberately, and a gap stays a gap, not a zero. Attribution describes assignment, not causal advertising effect.
