How do I create an account?
You sign up in the portal and create your company along the way, get invited by someone who already has access, or let the Shopify app create the account. Metrunio is offered only to businesses, not to consumers. Measurement starts only once the data processing agreement is concluded, which comes right at the start of setup.
How do I get access to Metrunio?
Route 1: register yourself
- 01Go to “Register” in the portal.
- 02Enter your name, business email address, company and a password. The time zone is prefilled with your browser’s; your days in the reports start in it. You can change it later under “Settings”.
- 03Tick the box: “I am acting for the company named above, am authorised to conclude contracts and accept the terms and conditions.”
- 04Open the confirmation email and follow the link.
- 05Sign in. The setup assistant starts by itself. After “Confirm your company” you conclude the data processing agreement; nothing is measured before that. The remaining phases follow, up to the first verified journey.
The privacy notice is linked below the tick box. It informs you what happens to your details. You do not have to confirm it, and there is no separate tick box for it.
Note
Confirmation email did not arrive? Check your spam folder first. The link is valid for 7 days. If it has expired or never arrived, request a link on the sign-in page through “Forgot your password?”: as soon as you set a password with it, your address is confirmed. Do not register again; the address is already taken.
Note
Metrunio is offered exclusively to businesses within the meaning of § 14 BGB (German Civil Code), not to consumers. Signing up therefore means declaring that you act for a business.
Registering creates a new tenant and gives you the Admin role for it. Everyone else joins afterwards by invitation and lands in the same tenant.
Note
Every new account starts with the trial: 30 days of Growth, no credit card. If you arrive through a plan button on the pricing page, the sign-up shows your plan as noted, and if you had switched the page to yearly, yearly billing too. That books nothing; the billing page preselects both. Booking happens after signing in, under “Plan & usage”; if you book nothing, your account continues on the free Start plan after the trial.
If sign-up asks for an invitation code
In some environments, accounts are available by invitation only. Sign-up then shows a field for the code and, next to it, “Request access”. The link leads to the form on the website; there you choose whether you would like access or would rather go through the setup together first, and briefly describe your shop and the channels you want to check. We get back to you by email. We do not name a deadline, and nothing is unlocked automatically.
Route 2: be invited
- 01An admin at your company invites you under “Team & roles”.
- 02You receive an email with an invitation link.
- 03Set a password. Access is then active with the assigned role.
Route 3: from the Shopify app
If you run a Shopify store, the Metrunio app creates your account without a sign-up in the portal. There you tick two boxes in the same step: one for the terms and your authority to act, one for the data processing agreement. Details are in “How do I set up Metrunio in Shopify?”.
Note
Open registration can be switched off by the platform administration. When it is, the website shows no button for an account of your own, and you get into the portal by invitation (route 2).

What do I have to do before the first data arrives?
The setup assistant takes you through six phases, from “Company & DPA” to “Check the first journey”; behind them are eleven steps, the same for every integration route. The second step is concluding the data processing agreement, without which nothing is measured. The assistant saves progress automatically and can be interrupted at any time; going live also needs access to the ad accounts, the connection to your consent tool and, depending on your company, internal approvals.

For every account, measurement starts only once the data processing agreement (DPA) is concluded; until then Metrunio accepts nothing and stores nothing. You conclude it in the portal under “Privacy” or in the setup step “Conclude the DPA”, and for a Shopify store also right in the app: enter the company, its address and the person concluding it, confirm they are authorised, done. Data arrives a few seconds later, without any change to your installation.

How do I connect my Shopify store to Metrunio?
You install the Metrunio app in your store via its installation link: from the setup assistant in the portal or from our email. If you do not have a Metrunio account yet, the app creates one without a second sign-up once you accept the terms and conclude the data processing agreement with two tick boxes; an existing account you connect by signing in to the portal. Measurement starts only once the DPA is concluded, and then covers storefront, checkout and order at once, with no change to your theme code.

How do colleagues get access?
Under “Team & roles” you invite people by email and assign the role at the same time. The invitation leads into the same tenant; no second account is created. How many people you can add depends on the plan; on the free Start plan it is just you.
- Sign-in, password and Google access
I cannot get into my account. What now?
Use “Forgot your password?” to reset it yourself; the link arrives by email. Signing in with Google Workspace is also possible, provided it is enabled for your tenant. It comes with Scale and the agency plan.
