JOURNEY

The recorded customer journey, traceable step by step.

Measured ad contacts and recorded steps in the shop in chronological order, each with timestamp, source and identifier. Missing steps are not filled in.

01 / CUSTOMER JOURNEY

One customer journey. With a purchase or without.

Every journey shows the measured contacts before it and the steps in the shop, up to the purchase or the last recorded event.

Why do these steps belong together?

The ID in the browser links the visit after the click to the order in the afternoon; the session links the steps of one visit. Linking uses deterministic features only, and only with consent. A different product was bought than the one in the cart; why, the data does not say.

Expand the visits to see the recorded steps.

Where the measured path ends.

“Without conversion” and “Cart without purchase” find the visits that did not end in an order. The history ends with the last recorded step. Whether someone closed the tab cannot be measured.

Events, not screen recordings.

The visit history shows reported page and shop events: page, product, cart, form, purchase. No mouse trail, no screen, no form input.

02 / HOW IT FORMS

How a journey comes about.

  1. STEP 01

    Delivery

The impression pixel reports that the creative was served, and on which website.

  2. STEP 02

    Viewability

The viewability tag reports whether it was actually viewable.

  3. STEP 03

    Click

The click runs through a signed link and is redirected safely.

  4. STEP 04

    Website

The tag reports session, page views and interactions.

  5. STEP 05

    Conversion

Your shop or CRM reports the completion with an order or lead number, from the browser or from the server.

  6. STEP 06

    Linking

Unique identifiers bring the signals together into one journey.

What collects these six signals

03 / LINKING

Only unique attributes are connected.

Session ID, pseudonymous first-party ID, click ID, impression ID, pseudonymised customer ID, order and lead number. Nothing else.

Animated graphic: a timeline across 24 hours, with a display ad seen at hour 0 and the purchase 18 hours later via a direct visit. Last click sees no source; under “Click before view” the viewable impression gets the credit.

EXCLUDED

No fingerprinting. No probabilistic models. No linking across account boundaries.

04 / GAPS

Missing signals stay visible.

Where consent is missing or a channel does not allow your own tags, a gap appears. Metrunio reports it instead of filling it. Where measurement ends and what that means for your figures
