Consent
How do I check my consent status?
With two checks that show different things. The rule check under “Setup → Consent” runs six cases against your saved setting, without your website. Whether the website reports consent and withdrawal correctly only shows in the live test with real page views: for each signal the time, source and reported consent status.
How do I make sure consent takes effect correctly?
Rule check: the setting
- 01Open “Setup” and the “Consent” card there.
- 02Under “Change the setting”, select your consent tool; the standard categories are mapped automatically.
- 03Save. The rule check runs along with it; “Check rules” repeats it. All six cases should show “passed”.
| Case | Expected with “block_all” |
|---|---|
| Page view without a decision | not accepted |
| Page view with analytics consent | accepted |
| Advertising event with analytics consent only | not accepted |
| Advertising event with marketing consent | accepted |
| Purchase from the browser without a decision | not accepted |
| Page view after a withdrawal | not accepted |
Note
“Passed” means your setting accepts or rejects in that case as it should. It says nothing about your website, not even in an account where no script has been installed yet.
Live test: the website
- 01Open your website in a new window and make a choice in the banner.
- 02Look at the live test under “Setup”: every signal that arrived is listed with time, source, environment and reported consent status.
- 03Consent, refuse or withdraw and check that the status in the list follows. After a refusal nothing new arrives.
Legal note
Both checks are technical controls and are no substitute for legal advice.

- How do I connect my consent tool?
Which consent tools behind my cookie banner are supported, and how do I map the categories?
In “Setup” you select your consent tool, the tool behind your cookie banner; for the common systems the categories are pre-filled. Other CMPs and custom consent APIs can be mapped freely.
- What happens before consent?
Can I measure anonymously before consent?
The default is “block_all”: nothing is stored before consent, and the tracking script sends nothing. Anonymous reach measurement before consent has been hidden since 29 September 2026 and can no longer be selected: the script sends nothing before a decision anyway, so it would stay empty. If you had already enabled it, earlier figures remain visible under “Reach”.
- What does the setup health centre do?
How do I find out what is missing in my setup?
The health centre runs a diagnosis across your setup and reports every finding with cause, effect, error code and the steps to fix it, rather than just an error message.
