Can I recommend Metrunio to others?

Yes, write to us and we will give you a link with a code in it; anyone creating an account through it is attributed to you. Once the company you referred has spent three consecutive months on a paid plan, we automatically credit you one monthly rate of their plan, at most one of your own. If you pay through Shopify yourself, there is no credit.

I would like to recommend Metrunio. Do I get anything for it?

The link looks like …/register?ref=YOUR-CODE. Anyone creating an account through it is attributed to you. The code does not have to be typed in; anyone without one simply registers as normal.

If the link got lost

If the company came another way, say the next day via the home page or through the Shopify app, let us know within 30 days of its sign-up and give us your code. We will then attribute it to you afterwards, once per company and with the same exclusions as at sign-up. After 30 days this is no longer possible, and a company already attributed to someone else stays there.

While accounts can only be created with an invitation code, the invitation and your code go in the same link: …/register?invite=INVITATION&ref=YOUR-CODE. Both are read together.

What is counted

  • Registered: an account was created.
  • Qualified: the referred company has spent three consecutive months on a paid plan. Only then is there a credit.

Only the second figure means anything. The first could be produced by creating accounts, and a programme that pays for it gets exactly that.

Note

The credit is a balance on your customer account with the payment provider; it settles against your next invoice by itself. If you pay through Shopify yourself, we credit nothing: Shopify bills the plan on your Shopify invoice, and there is no balance there we could book. The referral still counts. The conditions in detail are under “What do I get for referring someone?”.

Partner programme for agencies and consultants without a customer account

If you are not a customer yourself but recommend Metrunio professionally, for instance as an SEO agency, a consultant or with a podcast, you receive a commission instead of the credit. It requires a partner agreement, and you are a business or self-employed.

  • 20 % of the paid net revenue in the first 12 months from the referred company’s first paid invoice, then 10 % up to month 36.
  • Calculated on the base price and overage, excluding VAT. If the company pays through a shop system such as Shopify, we first deduct the fee it actually retains; with Shopify, that includes the revenue share once our app’s lifetime revenue passes one million US dollars. Shopify’s statement arrives later, so we start with a provisional rate and reconcile against it each quarter. Any difference, either way, appears on the next credit note.
  • Settled each quarter by self-billed credit note, with no minimum amount. Refunds the customer is entitled to and chargebacks (a returned direct debit, for instance) are offset against the next credit note. If that leaves a negative amount, we carry it forward to the following one. A goodwill refund, or one because we failed to deliver, costs you no commission.
  • The agency plan is excluded, as are companies that already had a Metrunio account in the twelve months before registering.
  • If the partner agreement ends, even through termination on our side, commission on the customers you referred legitimately continues up to month 36. Only attributions based on a breach of the advertising rules are dropped.
  • If you suspect an error in a statement, you can ask for a review. You then receive a breakdown in which each customer appears only under a reference; we do not disclose names.

You can get in touch through “Request a call” with the type “Become a partner” or directly on the /partners page of the website.

Legal note

Whether you have to disclose or pay tax on a credit for a referral depends on your country and your role. What appears on the invoice is binding.

  • What do I get for referring someone?

Do I get anything for passing on a referral code?

A credit on your next invoice. Once the company you referred has spent three consecutive months on a paid plan, Pro or above, we credit you one monthly rate of their plan, at most one of your own. The credit settles by itself; there is nothing to claim.

  • How do I reach support?

Who do I turn to with a question, and how fast will I get an answer?

Through the chat on the website, by email to support@metrunio.com or in the portal under “Help”; anything our help centre covers, the chat answers immediately and names the articles. On plans from Pro, we get back to you by the next working day if your measurement fails, and answer all other questions in the order they arrive. On the free Start plan, the help centre and chat answer your questions, and a person answers security, data protection and legal questions.

  • What does Metrunio cost?

Which plans are there, and what happens if I go over?

Five plans, tiered by events per month: Start (free), Pro (€79), Growth (€249), Scale (€599) and Agency (€299 with two client accounts, €49 per further one, 250,000 events per client account); every four delivered impressions count as one event. Above the allowance, every started 10,000 events cost €3, and a plan never costs more than the next plan up would cost at the same volume.

  • Which emails does Metrunio send, and how do I stop them?

I would like fewer emails. Which ones are there, and what can I unsubscribe from?

There are five kinds: operational messages (invitation, password, invoice, event allowance notices and the end of the trial), the weekly or monthly report, getting-started notes during the first few weeks, for agencies two emails about their clients (the weekly email about clients with open items and the monthly report as a PDF), and the newsletter. The first kind cannot be unsubscribed from, because without it access or billing does not work. You unsubscribe yourself from the report, the getting-started notes and the two client emails under “Settings → Notifications → Your emails”; with the Admin role you can also switch the report and the notes off for everyone there. You unsubscribe from the newsletter through the link in every issue.
