How do I give my client a monthly report as a PDF?
Under “Clients”, every client account has a monthly report as a PDF: key figures, channels and campaigns for one calendar month, with your agency’s name and logo in the header and “Measured with Metrunio” in the footer. On the 2nd of each month it is also sent as an attachment to your agency’s admins who are members of the client account themselves.
Is there a monthly report as a PDF that I can pass on to my client?
In the client overview, “Monthly report” in each client’s row leads to the preview. There you choose a completed calendar month and download the PDF. The preview shows exactly the text that is in the PDF.
What the report contains
- Revenue and conversions, measured: what came in during the month, revenue after refunds.
- Revenue and ROAS, attributed: distributed with the client’s default model. ROAS is attributed revenue divided by ad spend, a ratio and not a profit.
- Ad spend from cost retrieval and import, converted into the client’s currency.
- Orders from new customers, if the shop sends this or the measurement can derive it.
- For each figure, the previous month, if it was fully measured.
- The largest channels and campaigns by attributed revenue.
- Sentences that describe the figures. They come from fixed templates, not from a language model, and they do not judge.
The figures come from the same queries as the client’s overview, for the calendar month in the client’s time zone. If you choose the same period in the portal, you see the same figures.
If a figure is missing, the report says why. Without ad spend there is no ROAS, but a sentence saying that the costs are missing. If cost retrieval from an ad platform has not succeeded since the end of the month, the costs of the last days are missing. Sending then waits until the 5th and names the gap in the report instead of showing a ROAS that is too high.
Logo and language
As an admin of your agency, you upload the logo under “Settings → Company”: PNG or JPEG, up to 200 KB and 2,000 pixels on any side. The report does not take SVG, GIF or WebP. Without a logo, the header shows only your agency’s name. The footer always says “Measured with Metrunio”; there is no version of the report without Metrunio.
You choose the language for each client on the report page: German, English, Spanish or French. Without a choice, your agency’s invoice language applies, otherwise German.
Sending by email
On the 2nd of each month, in the client’s time zone, the report on the previous month goes out as a PDF to your agency’s admins who are members of the client account themselves. Anyone who does not want it switches it off for themselves under “Settings → Notifications → Your emails”. The first report covers the first month in which the client was measured, even if only part of that month; none goes out for the months before.
- A client’s figures are visible only to people who are members of its client account. That applies to the preview, the PDF and the email.
- The report goes to people at the client only where the card “Recipients at the client” appears on the report page. If it is missing, the feature has not been enabled for your account yet; pass the PDF on yourself.
- Names with characters outside Western European scripts appear simplified in the PDF, for example “Łódź” as “Lódz”.
Recipients at the client
On the report page you add up to ten people per client, for example the shop’s management. First you set who is responsible for this sending, your agency or your client, and add the link to their privacy notice. Without this link nobody can be added, and no report goes to recipients at the client.
- Each email names the controller, that your agency added the address and why, and links to their privacy notice and to Metrunio’s section on it. It contains no tracking pixel and no tracked links.
- Each email carries an unsubscribe link, also in the email header for one-click unsubscribing. Afterwards we delete the address and the name; only a checksum of the address remains for this client so that nobody adds it again. It does not apply to your other clients.
- The block ends with its purpose: when the client account is deleted, your agency no longer manages it or the feature has been switched off for your agency for 30 days. The recipients and the link to the privacy notice then go too; the report language stays.
- You cannot add an unsubscribed address again yourself. You can send the person an invitation, at most one in 30 days. Only once they confirm the link in it will they receive the report again. If they do not confirm within seven days, the invitation expires and we delete the address again.
- The limit of ten counts only active recipients; unsubscribes do not take up a place.
Legal note
Whoever chooses the recipients decides who receives the figures. Only add addresses you are allowed to share this client’s figures with, and add the notice of whoever is responsible for it. If your agency works on the client’s behalf, that is usually the client. This is a general assessment and does not replace a review of your contract with the client.

- How do I see all clients at a glance?
Is there an overview of all of my agency’s client accounts?
Under “Client overview” every client account of your agency sits in one row, those needing action first: whether measurement and ad accounts are running, how much of the quota the client has used this month, plus events, conversions, revenue and attribution rate for the last 7, 30 or 90 days. Measurement, ad accounts and figures appear only for clients in which you are a member yourself. On Mondays, an email to the agency’s admins sums up which clients have something open.
- How do I work with several clients as an agency?
Can I manage several tenants from one login?
Every client is a separate tenant with its own data, and one login can be a member of several tenants and switch between them in the portal. Data ends at the tenant boundary, technically as well.
- Which emails does Metrunio send, and how do I stop them?
I would like fewer emails. Which ones are there, and what can I unsubscribe from?
There are five kinds: operational messages (invitation, password, invoice, event allowance notices and the end of the trial), the weekly or monthly report, getting-started notes during the first few weeks, for agencies two emails about their clients (the weekly email about clients with open items and the monthly report as a PDF), and the newsletter. The first kind cannot be unsubscribed from, because without it access or billing does not work. You unsubscribe yourself from the report, the getting-started notes and the two client emails under “Settings → Notifications → Your emails”; with the Admin role you can also switch the report and the notes off for everyone there. You unsubscribe from the newsletter through the link in every issue.
- What do “measured” and “attributed” mean?
Why does Metrunio separate measured from attributed figures?
Measured means directly observed: an impression, a viewable impression, a click, a conversion. Attributed means a share distributed by a model; the product keeps both layers apart and never blends them. Alongside them are values you decide yourself (“set”), answers from your customers (“self-reported”) and figures an ad platform reports about itself (“reported”); there is no “estimated” layer.
