Getting started
How do I add a website?
Under “Setup → Websites and allowed domains”, “Add a website” opens the form, also for a second website; during the first run of the setup it is a step of its own. A name and the full address are enough; the site ID and write key are created automatically. Adding it needs no DPA, measuring does.
How do I add another website or domain?
- 01Open “Setup” and choose “Add a website” under “Websites and allowed domains”.
- 02Enter a name and the complete address.
- 03The assistant puts the write key into the tracking code itself. You only need to show it if someone else does the installation; it is shown in full only this once.
- 04Add further allowed domains below, under “Change allowed domains”, with “Add domain”.
Every site has its own keys, its own allowed domains and its own consent configuration. The overview, journeys, attribution, budget and commerce can be narrowed down to one website; costs count there through the campaigns you assign to it.
Note
A separate site is worth it when domains should be evaluated separately. For subdomains of the same brand one site is enough: subdomains of an allowed domain are included.
Note
How many websites you can add depends on your plan: Start and Pro allow one, Growth three, Scale and Agency any number. Once the limit is reached, the form says so; a larger plan allows more websites.

- Where do I find the site ID, write key and server key?
Which key goes where, and which one may be public?
Site ID and write key are in the portal under “Setup” and belong in the browser tracking code. You create the server key in “Setup” on the “Server Events API” tab with “Create server key”; it is secret, belongs only in your backend and is shown in full only when it is created. Read keys for Claude and your own analyses are under “Exports & AI connections”, in the “API access” section.
- Why do I have to allow domains?
What does DOMAIN_NOT_ALLOWED mean and how do I add a domain?
The write key is visible in your page source; to stop a foreign website using it in its visitors’ browsers, the collector checks the origin of the request. If the domain is not in the allowed list, the event is rejected with DOMAIN_NOT_ALLOWED. A request from outside a browser is not stopped by this check, so it is best to report purchases from your server as well.
- How do I connect Google Tag Manager?
How do I install Metrunio through Google Tag Manager?
You add the “Metrunio Tracking” template from the Tag Manager template gallery or download it as a file in “Setup”. You create a tag from it, enter site ID and write key, choose the trigger “Initialization - All Pages” and publish. This route needs no change to your website’s source code.
- How do I conclude the data processing agreement?
How do I conclude the DPA with Metrunio, and why is nothing measured before?
For every account, measurement starts only once the data processing agreement (DPA) is concluded; until then Metrunio accepts nothing and stores nothing. You conclude it in the portal under “Privacy” or in the setup step “Conclude the DPA”, and for a Shopify store also right in the app: enter the company, its address and the person concluding it, confirm they are authorised, done. Data arrives a few seconds later, without any change to your installation.
- What does Metrunio cost?
Which plans are there, and what happens if I go over?
Five plans, tiered by events per month: Start (free), Pro (€79), Growth (€249), Scale (€599) and Agency (€299 with two client accounts, €49 per further one, 250,000 events per client account); every four delivered impressions count as one event. Above the allowance, every started 10,000 events cost €3, and a plan never costs more than the next plan up would cost at the same volume.
- How do I see the figures for a single website?
Can I narrow the reports down to one website?
If your account measures more than one website, you pick it under “Website” in the period row at the top of Overview, Customer journeys, Channels & attribution, Check budget and Commerce & products. Orders or leads count for the website where they came in. Costs and ad contacts count only through the campaigns you assign to the website under “Campaigns”.
