How does Metrunio differ from web analytics?
Metrunio has its own web analytics with page views, visits, time on site and bounce rate, counted for visitors with consent; it does not have funnels built from pages, search terms or modelled figures for visitors without consent, as GA4 offers them. Beyond that, Metrunio measures the delivery and viewability of creatives in supported environments itself and connects them traceably with the conversion. From the Pro plan it shows two models compared head to head and all seven in one table, along with the individual conversions and journeys behind them.
We already have Google Analytics. Why add Metrunio?
| Question | Web analytics, using GA4 as the example | Metrunio |
|---|---|---|
| How many visits did the website have, and how long did they stay? | yes; in advanced Consent Mode also with cookieless measurements and, above a minimum amount of data, modelled for visitors who decline | yes, counted for visitors with consent; those who decline are not added in |
| Funnels built from pages, shop search terms | yes | no; funnel steps your code reports are evaluated in the funnel report |
| Which creatives were served, and were they visible? | through the Ad Manager link (ad_impression event), in apps and on your own websites, for ads you sell there yourself; not creatives on third-party inventory | your own impression pixel and viewability tag, on display, programmatic and affiliate |
| Do viewable impressions without a click count? | on YouTube as an engaged view, with a window you set from 1 to 30 days | as post-view, wherever your own tags may be served; reported separately |
| Which click led to the site? | yes | yes, through a signed tracking link |
| How is a conversion attributed? | three models, one of them data-driven | seven models: two head to head, all seven in one table |
| Can every figure be recalculated? | through the raw-event export to BigQuery | CSV export of the individual conversions and journeys, with the same values as the reports |
Whether you keep GA4 alongside depends on your questions. Web analytics in Metrunio shows you visits, pages, sources and time on site, together with the ad contacts before the order or lead. If you need funnels built from pages, search terms or figures about visitors without consent, keep running GA4. Using both side by side is not a contradiction.
Note
The statements about GA4 follow Google’s own documentation. Sources and retrieval dates are on the comparison page of the website; they are re-checked after six months at the latest.
Caution
Do not expect identical numbers. Different time windows, models and consent rules necessarily produce deviations. More on this in “Why do my numbers differ from Meta and Google?”.

- What is Metrunio?
What does Metrunio do, and who is it for?
Metrunio shows you which measured ad contacts preceded your orders or leads, and distributes revenue by a rule you can see and change. It measures clicks, visits and conversions with its own signals and, wherever your own tag is served, the delivery and viewability of ads as well. It is built for shops, agencies and SaaS businesses that allocate ad budget and need a source that is not owned by the platform being advertised on.
- Web analytics: page views, visits, time on site
What does web analytics in Metrunio show me?
Under “Web analytics” you see, on every plan, how many page views, visits and visitors your website has, how long visitors stay active and how many leave right away. You can view it per day or, for periods of up to 14 days, per hour, split by channel, page and technology. Only visitors who consented to analytics are counted; nothing is extrapolated.
- Why do I see fewer visits than in GA4?
Why does Metrunio show fewer visits than Google Analytics?
Usually because of consent: Metrunio only counts visits from people who consented to analytics and does not add the others back in. In advanced Consent Mode, GA4 can send cookieless measurements without consent and, above a minimum amount of data, model the behaviour of those who decline. Detected bots, test data and small differences in the terms add to this.
- What is post-view and what does it tell me?
Why should I count viewable impressions without a click?
Post-view means: a viewable ad that was not followed by a click is linked to a later order or lead and taken into account by your model. That gives a number to contacts click measurement cannot see, display in particular; it only works where your own tag runs, both sides have consented and the browser returns the view identifier. Viewable impressions receive a share from the Pro plan, and how much they count is decided by model and view window.
- How does Metrunio relate to other tools?
Do I need Metrunio in addition to my existing setup?
Web analytics is included: visits, pages, sources and time on site, counted for visitors with consent. Metrunio does not replace a CMP or an ad server; it measures clicks and viewed impressions itself and attributes them by disclosed rules.
- Why do my numbers differ from Meta and Google?
Metrunio shows fewer conversions than the ad account. Why is that?
Deviations are normal and usually explainable: different attribution windows, different models, the same conversion claimed by several platforms, and missing signals where consent was not given. Metrunio counts each purchase once, even when browser and server report the same order, and distributes it by a rule you can inspect.
